The fly tying session! Last week we showed the students how to set up the vises, insert the hook, and start the thread. They came back excited and ready to tie their own creations. We had a few more volunteers, allowing a nicer teacher-student ration. The students tied some wooly worms, blood midge larva, wooly buggers, and other nymphs. We demonstrated some techniques with Teeny’s nymph and a simple Pheasant Tail. The students took the fly tying kits along with a grab bag of materials home, and will bring some flies to fish with next week!
