How long have you been a TU member? Since 1993 I believe. Now a Lifetime Member.

Are you a chapter board member and/or officer? Yes. I’m the secretary for 2020 and have served in that capacity previously as well as chapter president for several years. Before Keith I was the Youth Education Coordinator and helped start Fly Gals in about 2001.

What drew you to joining TU? My husband was a founding chapter member and after a while I decided I should get involved with their mission as well. We use state waters and public lands a great deal and I feel we need to monitor and
protect them.

When did you move to BV and join CPC? I moved to BV in 1976 and joined CPC in 1993.

Where are you originally from, and what did/do you do for a living? I grew up in Miami, FL when it was a “small town.” I met my husband at Ohio State doing graduate work. We taught in Rochester for a couple of years when we took our first raft trip. We started our rafting company in 1976 in southwestern Colorado when we were teaching. When I got my teaching job with Buena Vista schools, we were the 2nd rafting company in BV. I taught physical education, careers, decisions, economics, and coordinated a work experience program. What section of the Arkansas do you think fishes best, and when? Float fishing I like Brown’s Canyon in the evenings in late July. Wade fishing, I like the river park in BV in spring before runoff.

What is your favorite Ark River fly? PMX and sparkle dun.
