Dave joined the Board of Directors last year and has been very active in his new role. Among other things, he’s been tying flies for and helping with the veteran fly-fishing program, he was co-organizer of the FlyFishing 101 class earlier this fall. We ask Dave a few questions about himself to get to know him better.

How long have you been a TU member?

I believe I have been a TU member for 3 years.

Are you a chapter board member and/or officer?

Yes, I joined the board this past year.

What drew you to joining TU?

I have become passionate about fly fishing over the past 5 years, and believe it is important to protect our natural resources for future generations. I wanted to meet others in the community

that also cared about fishing and the environment while giving back.

When did you move to the area and join CPC?

I moved to Salida in the summer of 2017, after living in Denver for 7 years. CPC is the first chapter of TU I joined 3 years ago.

Where are you originally from, and what did/do you do for a living?

I grew up in Western Massachusetts. I am a dentist at Salida Family Dentistry and Buena Vista Family Dentistry.

What section of the Arkansas do you think fishes best, and when?

I have been enjoying a stretch of the river past Howard, especially in the spring and fall.

What is your favorite Ark River fly?

Puterbaugh caddis, mostly because Don took me fishing a few times before he passed away, and he was a wonderful person.
