Greg Policky has requested help from our chapter and some other volunteer organizations to assist with the restoration activities at the Hayden Ranch location. Extensive restoration activities have taken place there over the past couple of years and now it’s time to do some willow planting.
This is a prime fish habitat made better through Greg’s efforts. We need to step up and help out on this project.
Tuesday, May 13 and Thursday May 15 have been selected as plant days. We would like to have 20-30 people each day! We will meet at the Hayden Reservoir Recreation Site at 9:00 am each day (this is the parking area below the Highway 24 bridge about 6 miles south of Leadville).
Bring personal equipment for the day (e.g. gloves, rain gear, lunch, water, snacks, etc). It would be a good idea to bring waders as well so you can freely cross the river. Also, bring any tools you may have (shovels, loppers, pruners, etc). CPW will try to provide much of the tools but extras are always a good idea.
Please RSVP to Jim Impara (ten.s1516427795ehguh1516427795@ipow1516427795t1516427795 or cell 719-221-9581) as soon as possible so we have a good idea of number of volunteers. Jim will be on the chapter trip so please commit before May 5 if possible. Contact him with any questions.
